Based on the Actor-partner Interdependence Model (APIM), this study explores the actor effects and partner effects of marital satisfaction on depressive symptoms in elderly Chinese couples, and the moderating effects of relevant variables on the actor effects. The results show that marital satisfaction of elderly couples has a significant negative impact on their own depressive symptoms. The lower the marital satisfaction, the higher the risk of depression, demonstrating the existence of the actor effects. In terms of partner effects, the marital satisfaction of elderly couples also has a significant negative impact on the depressive symptoms of their spouse's depressive symptoms. Parent-child relationship satisfaction can effectively alleviate the risk of depression caused by marital dissatisfaction. There are gender differences in the moderating effects of social interaction between marital satisfaction and depressive symptoms. When both parent-child relationship satisfaction and social interaction are included in the basic model, the moderating effects of social interaction change significantly. In addition, there are marked socio-demographic differentials in the effects of marital satisfaction on depressive symptoms.

With the globalization of economy, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays an active role in the development of regional economy. An important question is whether population ageing would affect the location choice of FDI. In this paper, we use a bilateral stochastic analysis framework to integrate the bilateral effects of ageing on FDI into a unified framework, and compare the net effect by decomposing the effect into positive and negative ones. We find that ageing has two kinds of effects on FDI: the promoting and the extrusion effects. The positive effect promotes 23.43% of FDI growth, while the extrusion effect reduces 44.63% of FDI growth. Combining both effects, ageing significantly inhibites FDI inflow. The results are significant in different time intervals and regions. At the same time, the heterogeneity analysis of ageing and city scale shows that the role of ageing in extruding FDI increases with the rise of ageing level and decreases with the expansion of city scale.

Regional demography,as a branch of demography,is a new direction of demographic research. Its theoretical function and practical value relies on guiding, promoting, and coordinating the sustainable development of regional populations.Based on the contradiction, complexity, diversity, and imbalance of regional population development, this paper reviews the literature of regional demog- raphy, and attempts to build a preliminary analytical framework of regional population by analyzing the application of regional demography, focusing on the research object, scope, methods, and contents of regional demography, and the relationship among regional demography, regional science, population geography, spatial demography, and other related study fields. The paper also puts forward some problems that deserve further discussion, including the types of regional demography, the boundaries that separate regional demography from other fields, the theoretical foundation of regional demogra- phy,and the prospect of regional demography.
